Three teenagers were injured Friday morning in a shooting outside Carver Vocational Technical High School in west Baltimore.City police confirmed a shooting outside the school at Presstman and North Bentalou streets around 7:50 a.m. Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Kevin Jones said two students were injured and taken to a hospital. Police later identified the two victims as a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy. Jones said a third victim was taken to a hospital on their own.”All three victims are in non-life-threatening condition at University Hospital,” Jones said. “This is an active crime scene, it’s still early in the investigation as of right now. Crime lab is on the scene.” As part of their investigation, police said they hope to gather video from surveillance and school system cameras along Presstman Street.Jones said the shooter fled east on Presstman Street. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-396-2477 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7LOCKUP. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Baltimore City Public Schools said: “We are aware of an incident at Carver this morning. We’re working with Baltimore Police Department and will share further details when we can. Parents/guardians and families are advised not to go to the school at this time. Please wait for further instructions. The families of the students injured have been notified. We are standing with the entire Carver community as we grapple with this incident.”The Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement posted a statement on X, saying: “MONSE stands ready to support our partners at Baltimore City Public Schools, the Mayor’s Office of Children and Family Success, BPD, the Carver community, and — most importantly — the victims of this morning’s shooting and their families. It must never be normal for our young people to have to face and overcome trauma and violence in their daily lives. They deserve to travel to and from school safely, without fear of being shot. Today’s event underscores the importance of continuing our work in partnership with our fellow agencies and community-based organizations to prioritize the needs of our city’s youth and develop comprehensive solutions to ensure that they can grow up in a safe and nurturing environment.”Baltimore City Council President Nick Mosby released a statement, saying, in part: “Our hearts are with the two people who were shot and their families.
