Today (Saturday): I may have said this before, but today should be our last 80-degree day of the year. Keep that in mind when you’re out there wondering why it’s so darn warm. In the immediate area we could see mid-80s, which would be about 20 degrees above normal if so. It’s even noticeably humid. Records seem just out of reach, except maybe at Dulles where the target is 83. Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: With unseasonably muggy air in town, it’s another night of lows in the upper 50s and mid-60s. Those values are quite close to record values for warm overnight readings. Maybe a patch or two of fog near water or in valleys by dawn. There could also be a random shower late night. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Sunday): Clouds are more numerous as a frontal zone closes in from the northwest. It’ll stay to our northwest, but some showers may skirt the area. Better odds of something more substantial are generally northern Maryland and northward. With clouds and some raindrops around highs are mainly in the low or mid-70s. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow night: We’re still out ahead of the front, so temperatures are again mild, or within a few degrees of 60 most spots. They could again threaten record values, although with chillier air spilling in late Monday, low temperatures from the morning likely won’t hold through midnight. Confidence: Medium-High
The cold front sinks through on Monday. With it, some showers, probably mainly in the afternoon and evening. Upper 60s north to mid-70s south for highs, largely dependent on when colder air begins filtering in. Plan on temperatures falling a good 10 degrees across the whole area before sunset on a gusty northwest wind. Confidence: Medium
It’ll be a Halloween costumes and coats kind of Tuesday. Unfortunately, some rain may fall as well, perhaps especially later in the day and into evening as a coastal storm starts to develop to our east. Still not a sure thing, with better odds of more consistent rain to the east and northeast. Highs are way down compared to recently and a good 10 or more degrees below average, mainly in the low 50s. Confidence: Medium
