In light of this success, director Lokesh Kanagaraj organised a ‘Kerala Success Meet’ to celebrate the film’s achievements in the state. However, during his visit to Kerala to mark the success of Vijay’s film the director sustained an injury. The director- had planned to hold a press conference in Kochi at 4 PM on Monday. He was scheduled to visit a local theatre in the city too. However, the event, organised by Kerala film distributor Gokulam Gopalan, had to be be rescheduled.

Despite this, a large crowd gathered at Palakkad Kavita Theater today to catch a glimpse of the director. Lokesh Kanakaraj sustained injuries during a stampede caused by enthusiastic fans. The police had to resort to using batons to control the crowd that had bypassed security measures. Due to his leg injury, Lokesh had to cancel other events and immediately returned to Chennai. He was unable to visit Thrissur Ragam Theater and Kochi Kavita Theater as planned for the day. Lokesh informed that he will reschedule the press meet in Kochi for another day.

Taking to X, he wrote, “Thank you Kerala for your love.. Overwhelmed, happy and grateful to see you all in Palakkad. ❤️ Due to a small injury in the crowd, I couldn’t make it to the other two venues and the press meeting. I would certainly come back to meet you all in Kerala again soon. Till then continue enjoying #Leo with the same love. “x

Leo continues to excel at the global box office, nearing the ₹450 crore milestone. On Sunday, October 22, the film is estimated to have earned around ₹49 crore in India, despite receiving mixed reviews. Leo has already become the highest opening-day earner in Kerala for 2023, underlining its popularity.
